Last April, we went on a cruise to Mexico with our good friends, the Havemans.  We had a great time sightseeing, tanning, dancing the night away, pigging out on soft serve ice cream, and watching good ol’ Frank sing karaoke.  All four of us were pretty content with life just the way it was.  In June, we went out on Liz’ and Jared’s boat on a Saturday afternoon, and we announced we were expecting a baby and Liz responded, “That’s interesting… we are too.”  I was SHOCKED!  How could this be?!?  How could we be so “lucky” that our close friends would be pregnant at the same time and that neither of us were trying?  AND, we had just gotten a great vacation in before the madness would start!

Liz and I are about 8 weeks pregnant. Just found out!

It turned out to be such a huge blessing that we were pregnant together – I was a basket case for the majority of the pregnancy and I really needed a friend like Liz to experience it with.  We even took our Childbirth Class together… well, when I wasn’t hyperventilating in the hallway at least.

New Year's Eve

Liz gave birth to Luke Jeffrey Haveman two days after Che was born – February 20th.  We checked out of the hospital as Liz was working so hard to push that little guy into the world.  Luke was 7lbs 14oz and 21 inches long.  He has more hair on his sweet head than Che!  Luke and Che already have lots of playdates together!  Today, we went to Cedars for breakfast and then to the mall to shop!

What a blessing to have such amazing friends.  I really believe that God allowed us to experience this together for a reason.  I am so thankful that Che already has such a good buddy and I pray they will grow up together thinking girls have cooties and throwing rocks at eachother… be careful boys.  I can’t wait to create more memories.
Already buddies!

You guys are so sweet. I’m thankful God breathed life into her the same time he breathed it into you. I’m glad you had her to go through this with! Thanks for posting – Great photos, and how fun you guys had planned a vacation together! Ha!
